corner of the Kansas City Metropolitan Statistical Area. 20 minutes
or less will provide you connectivity to a number of Kansas City
landmarks/conveniences including but not limited to: Kansas City
International Airport (KCI), The Plaza, Zona Rosa, Downtown KC,
Village West, Kansas Speedway, Oak Park Mall, and the University
of Kansas.
Leavenworth County has a unique mix of urban and rural opportunities
in collaboration with historic and new age development. The City
of Leavenworth (pop. 38,000) is the oldest incorporated communities
in Kansas (1854) while the Cities of Basehor (pop. 3,000) and Tonganoxie
(pop. 3,500) are ranked the 5th and 6th fastest growing communities
in the state. The City of Lansing (pop. 10,100) is a bedroom community
to the City of Leavenworth; however the average household income
ranks among the Top 10 in the state. Other more rural communities
like Easton and Linwood are also seeing additional growth as the
Kansas City metro continues to push its way West.
Leavenworth County is also home to Fort Leavenworth (home of the
Combined Arms Center) which houses some of the Army’s best
and brightest leadership for the United States Military. The base
is home to nearly 4,000 residents and during daytime hours will
see an additional 2,000 traverse on post for employment opportunities.
